Books are a source of information if through books you are able to attain or acquire necessary information that you need. Books contains data on various topics, be it educational or recreational, as long as you have acquired knowledge and information from it, it is considered a source of information.

An example is in research or studies. In chapter two of research is the related review of literature, books will prove to be a source information to support your research or study.

Another simple one when you find an unfamiliar word, you use a dictionary to know the word, therefore the dictionary book is a source information.
